Rodger has extensive experience providing strategic legal counsel across the telecommunications, technology, and commercial sectors. Known for sound judgment, business acumen, and a pragmatic approach to risk, he helps align legal strategy with organizational objectives in fast-paced, sales-driven environments. He is passionate about mentoring legal talent, fostering high-performing teams, and delivering innovative, business-focused legal solutions.
Areas of focus include commercial negotiations, legal department leadership, technology and commercial law (telecom, IT, SaaS, Cloud, IoT), data privacy (CIPP/C), public sector procurement, government contracting, and the use of AI in legal processes.
Formerly Associate General Counsel at TELUS Communications, he led a team of lawyers supporting high level commercial transactions, technology agreements, and business-critical negotiations. Rodger began his legal career in the technology business law group at Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt before moving inhouse at AT&T Canada.

- Outside of work, Rodger is an avid cyclist and gym rat, passionate about history, current affairs and emerging technologies, and a keen reader.
- Favourite recent reads include: How to think about AI by Richard Susskind; Night Soldiers by Alan Furst; Sonny Boy (Al Pacino’s memoir); Shogun by James Clavell; The Silk Roads by Peter Frankopen.
