Steven is a seasoned lawyer with extensive experience in drafting and negotiating contracts in the technology industry. As both a computer engineer and a lawyer, he helped grow Flipp Corporation (best known for its Flipp mobile app) to become the leading digital circular platform in the retail industry. During his 8-year tenure at Flipp, he served as its General Counsel and Corporate Secretary and led all legal matters, including drafting, negotiating and advising on commercial agreements, employment matters, IP procurement, privacy matters and fundraising activities. Prior to joining Flipp, Steven was in private practice at Gowling WLG (previously Gowling Lafleur Henderson LLP) in Ottawa in its IP department, where he primarily focused on patent law. Steven is a registered Canadian patent agent (though he no longer practices) and a Chartered Director.
In addition to providing his legal services in association with Inter Alia Law, Steven is also a co-founder of his own technology startup in the automotive industry.
BEYOND THE BIO :
When not practicing law or working on his startup, Steven loves spending time with his kids (Claire and Alex) and when they’re not around, he spends his time sweating at the gym or enjoying the outdoors.
